For those of you submitting staff picks to the web, WE LOVE YOU! Your content is always used on the website, if not now, then later (yes we hoard content at times). We realize that in your busy schedules providing us staff picks is not always easy but the variety and quantity we get is amazing!
Just wanted to let fellow blog readers know that an easier way to find the B number is to use the web catalog. Log into your account, conduct your search and you will find that you are in staff mode (isn't iii smart?) That magical b number should be in the upper left corner of your screen. (note: i have tried to put a screen shot here but am unable to convert it to the right format that is conducive for this blog; you'll just have to try it and see for yourself).
Hope this is a useful tip. It is one that Alyson recently mentioned at this week's Digital Services open staff meeting and worth sharing.
Let me know if you feel this is easier......happy b number hunting!

Hi Cynthia, you said "Let me know if you feel this is easier......happy b number hunting!"
Easier than what? I'm confused! I thought staff normally used MilCirc to look at records and the b number is readily apparent at the top of the record. Are we talking about a different application?
Mary,
Staff who provide us staff picks aren't always at a desk where millennium is open. To save time and to still provide us w/ the # that we need to link the record, i pointed out that the webcatalog can do the same thing......
