“as the world of information shifts, you have to be able to prove to your clients that you actually have something that they can’t get elsewhere more cheaply. Web links to the usual Internet resources won’t cut it. Can you prove that your services are differentiated in a visible, tangible way from the web experiences they have at home on their computers, which, by the way are more than likely better than anything available in your library? When you know the answer to this question, you know what you’ve got that’s valuable to them.”
From Out Front with Stephen Abram, ALA, 2007
