life is not just passing me by, it's speeding!

nokia says that in the future, internet users will be consumers of their own content, rather than just passive consumers of existing content! if you're interested in the article, here's the link to it..... they're calling this new content "circular entertainment" - where i create a piece of content, share it with my friend who adds music, who shares it with other friends who add photos and it becomes bigger and better than what it was originally. the four trends they have identified are immersive living (blurring the line between online and offline), geek culture (blurring between creative and commercial), g tech (the feminization of technology where entertainment is more collaborative, democratic, emotional and customized) and localism (think homegrown pride).

do you see yourself as a content creator?

While I don't MySpace, flikr, or text, I do blog, so it's not a big leap to imagine myself doing other types of content creation.

The type of content that came to mind as I read this was a whole new way of book or media reviewing--instead of having teens write a static review of a book, get them to start a circular piece, have someone else who's read the book add content that reflects their experience of the book, and so on. That sounds pretty cool...almost performance art in response to literature!
